Dead Beats Society
Branding, Brand Strategy, Content Production
The Brief
The music industry has been dominated by a few large corporations for decades, and this monopoly has only strengthened with the rise of digital media. One reason for this is the high cost of producing and distributing music. Only large companies have the resources to invest in recording studios, marketing campaigns, and distribution networks. Additionally, these companies have the ability to sign and promote a limited number of popular artists, leaving little room for independent musicians and small labels to make a significant impact. The music industry is also heavily regulated, and the cost of complying with copyright laws and other regulations can be prohibitive for smaller players. As a result, the business monopoly in the music industry shows no signs of slowing down, and many independent artists continue to struggle to make a living.
Dead Beats Society exists to rebalance the equilibrium. To give creators in the music industry access to an alternative economy that rewards both artists and fans financially. They tasked us with creating a bold new identity for the project.
